To all who attended the inaugural Black Alumni Reunion Weekend,

 

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for making the weekend an absolute success. Our goal was for every attendee to experience Black Excellence on display!!! To those who couldn't attend, trust me when I say that you missed out on something truly special.

 

The weekend kicked off with a fantastic golf outing, where old friendships were rekindled, and new ones were formed. The excitement of seeing each other again after all these years was awesome, and it set the tone for the incredible time we were about to have.

 

The meet and greet was a time of pure joy and anticipation. It was amazing to witness the spark of excitement as we caught up with each other's lives and reminisced about the good old days. The bonds that were strengthened and the memories shared during that time are truly priceless.

 

Now let's talk about the cookout on the school grounds. As we embarked on a tour of our beloved alma mater, we were left in awe of the remarkable changes that have taken place over the years. Gathering at the place we all used to hang out brought back a flood of memories and nostalgia. It was interesting to learn that some groups referred to it as "the corner" while others called it "the wall." Regardless of the name, the sense of camaraderie and unity was overwhelming. And let's not forget about the delicious food and the music that kept us dancing. I also would like to thank local news channel 2 for covering our event.

 

Now, the highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the main event, the Black and Sexy affair. The music, red carpet, the atmosphere, and the food were nothing short of five-star caliber. It was a night of elegance, celebration, and pure joy. We took a moment to honor our deceased alumni, paying tribute to their legacy. And the discussions about our plans for the future of our alumni community were incredibly encouraging.

 

I want to take a special moment to thank the best reunion committee. They not only saw the vision but believed in it and went above and beyond to make it a reality. Your hard work and dedication truly paid off, and I am grateful for the incredible experience you provided. As a result of your detailed planning, our organization contributed to more than $10,000 in revenue to local Black-owned businesses in a 48-hour time frame. That’s impactful!

 

Lastly, I was completely surprised and deeply humbled by the recognition that was given to me. Your kind words and appreciation mean the world to me, and I am truly honored to be a part of such an amazing group. 

 

As the reunion celebration comes to an end, let's remember that the real work starts now. Let's continue to support and uplift one another, not just during these special occasions, but throughout the year. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that the legacy of our alma mater continues to thrive.
